end of journey...
Hey guys and gals, we've come to the end of our very exciting journey. Thanks to the gals for doing so much pre journey preparation and the guys for being man slaves throughout.
So now, I shall contribute my part by sharing the wonderful pictures with you. I have uploaded all the pictures to my computer. But it's really taking a really long time to load to Picasa web album (Pengwoo is wrong once again!!). I am proud to announce that we took a total of 271 pictures for the trip, and most of them are really great pictures with awesome colours, especially the flowers. Sadly, the landscape pictures didn't appear as nice. I think it's because 1. I totally forgot my camera has a landscape mode, 2. The haze decolourised the beautiful greenary. No worries and no kan cheong, I will share the album asap.
I personally have a very fun journey, and I am not saying just for the sake of saying. Let's organise another one soon, and not wait for another 4 years.

DAY 1
Just woke up at sookfen's place and already my body is a mess.
Took the bus from merlin towers, only it turned out to be all the way at Komtar. And then we were delayed by a couple of loser lovebirds. The bus only started moving at 15min to midnight. WTF.
Pw had some seat problems, as she will elaborate on. Personally, just drop ur seat and let her scream "My leg my leg" as much as she wants.
Slept on the floor of sookfen's apartment. Ugh. Cold hard tiles. How hospitable. It cant get any worse than this, can it?

Taxi from Puduraya - My Place
I'm not sure if by that time will there be taxis readily available. If not, you can call:
1) Comfort Cab - 03 8024 2727
2) Public Cab - 03 6259 2020
3) Sunlight Cab - 03 9057 5757
The cab fare from my place to Pudu (if run by meter) is around RM15 max? But since you guys will be taking a midnite cab, so charges should be quite high. (But u all sharing, should be fine).
When you guys reach pudu bus station , give me a call? I'll wait for you all to come and pick you up from the lobby? Oh yarh, destination is Damansara Perdana (area name), Metropolitan Square (condo name). If the taxi driver doesn't know where the condo is, ask him if he knows Citibank. The condo is above Citibank. If they ask you where's Damansara Perdana (hopefully they SHOULDN'T), tell them it's beside the curve (a shopping area).
To recognize my place, when you turn in, it'll be an uphill, followed by downhill. The condo is on your right, and the most prominent thing is Citibank. So make sure the taxi takes you to Citibank. Ask the driver to drive abit further up Citibank, and you'll see a Scotia Bank (red logo) and there's a "Rainbow Mart" there too. There'll be the side entrance to my place (with guards and such). Give me a call when you guys are here and i'll come down to open the door. :)
Bus ticket from CH - KL
Hey all,
Just in case, i called up and checked for the tickets for Monday from CH - KL. The CH office told me we can't book it through the phone, so we can either book it through the KL agent, or physically buy when we're in CH. I think we'll just get it from the KL agent on Saturday morning to be safe. (Someone please remind me on Saturday!)
For now, the CH lady told me there're plenty of seats:
1st bus: 8am
2nd bus: 10.30am
If you all want to get back early, we'll take the 8am bus lo. Should reach around 12-ish. Eat lunch then you guys can take a ride home? :)
Online Tickets / Phone Booking
Hey all,
I found some good solutions:
1) Internet Booking
http://www.maraliner.com.my/Defaulte.asp (Choose from Puduraya to Johor Baru)
(I've take Maraliner before and they're quite okay.)
http://www.plusliner.com/schedule/Plusliner_Schedule2.asp (Choose from KL - JB)
(Plusliner is quite good, but their schedule like quite sucky, only have later buses, so maybe not preferred.)
2) Telephone Booking
Also Maraliner : "Call to book your ticket at 03-26979797 and to be collected 24 hours before departure." So we can always pick it up on Saturday.
Konsortium: http://www.kbes.com.my/contactus.asp
(Office Tel No : 05-8918888 Ext 14)
(Konsortium is pretty good too.. alot of people like to take it. Not sure if they allow phone ticketing though. )
Hope this helps.
return tickets
the station in Jb dun sell return tickets wor...i will call the stations in KL tml then.
The hotels will have day tours which we can join :)
Trekking
Okay, do we need to have some arrangements with the hotel to do trekking, like getting a guide or we can just do it ourselves?
Pengwoo, what's dennis' advice?
Sorry guys, couldn't offer any help during the planning stage but i hope it will be a fun journey. =(
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
ok..
i think sookfen alreadi got the tickets so we just stick to the timing bah..
I will go down to ask abt the kl-jb tickets tml..cos i am not sure exactly wat time we will be back to Kl frm CH, so dare not get the tickets..maybe i get the slightly late but not so late timing..or i get the timings 1st then we discuss and buy them on friday b4 we set off..
Oh..Johorians, shall we assemble at the merlin tower instead?at the grassland express counter..it is the one quite near to the mobil petrol kiosk.we meet slightly earlier?say 11.15pm?
and yah..bring your trek shoes ppl...we are going to get sporty and trek kay...those stuck in office should get near to nature..no excuse..
change of plans?
Sookfen, on your way to get the tickets from CH-KL and KL-JB, is it possible to change our KL -CH tickets earlier a bit(say 8am) , so that we can reach CH early and proceed with activities. I think we have nothing much to do in KL early in the morning, so why don't we make our journey earlier?
And since we have spent Sat afternoon and Sunday in CH, we can take an early bus down from CH to KL (say 8am) and most probably reach KL in the noon to have lunch and then proceed to take bus to JB. Since now the jam is super heavy these days (plus there will be a lot of people rushing back to singapore on monday), I think it's best we cross the causeway asap. And if lucky, we will have enough time to rest and prepare for work the next day (those affected).
So any ideas on what we're going to do in CH? If we're going trekking, most likely we will have to bring track shoes there, so it's better to be prepared and get an idea of what we will be doing in CH.
Sookfen, let us know if this is possible? And I am worried if we get the return journey tickets only on Saturday, there might be a possibility that there will be no tickets.
Pengwoo, I think we can get KL-JB tickets at the counters in JB. It's better to settle all these unpredictable factors asap.
Anymore inputs from anyone else?

Itinerary?
Yo Chris,
EVEN ZS posted earlier than you... :P Okay, i THINK the itinerary would be as follows:
Friday (16/5) - Take bus from JB to KL (Reach KL at probably 3am? Haha...)I can give you guys the address to take a cab to my place (remind me to sms you PW!) ORRRRR.. i THINK i know the way there. :P
Saturday - From my place, we'll go eat a good breakfast, then proceed to take the bus at 12.30pm. Will probably reach CH at 4pm?
Sunday - CH
Monday - Take a bus from CH back to KL. I haven't bought the tickets for those yet; not sure if we can get it where i bought the tickets. Will check again later. I think it'll be good if we take a morning bus, and predict to reach KL say... 3pm? We can tour around KL a little if you guys want (I suggest we go eat our lunch.. :)) and maybe you guys can take a bus in the evening back? (Not too late of course.. I'd say 5pm?)
Things left to do:
1) Buy bus tickets from CH - KL for Monday (19/5)
2) Buy bust tickets from KL - JB for Monday
(Aiya, someone should have reminded me yesterday, then i can do everything at 1 go. Now a headache. KL traffic sucks! Maybe we can do it on Saturday morning. Sounds good?)
This is what i think the itinerary is going to be. Anyone else has any other comments? Cheers!

Our Family Quad Room comes with both the Garden and the Golf View. The rooms are located on the first floor. The Family Quad room comes with 1 King Size Bed and 2 Single Bed. This room is big enough to accommodate an extra bed. With the extra bed the Family Quad rooms comfortably accommodates 5 adults. All rooms come with carpet.
Hotel Facilities:
- Sauna
- Jogging trail
- Golf course (nearby)
- Driving range (nearby)
(Sorry ZS and Chris, no tennis/squash courts! But care to go to the driving range? :D)
Note:
Since the room is only for 4 people, and we've like 6-7 people, of course, we've to be a little discreet when checking in. :P Don't want the extra charges eh! Also, if possible, can some bring their own towels (so that we don't request for more than 4 towels and get caught :P).
Breakfast is for 4, so maybe we can take turns on different days to eat it. But a better alternative may be to go to town and have a good breakfast! YUM! Or.. we can buy some stuff back and have our own breakfast. All options are cool with me.
I think that's about it? Cheers!
Which room?
The train timing is way off...so we shall take the 10pm coach frm larkin to KL...ok with u all?
Which room u all prefer leh?
1) Shasta 3 bedroom

THANK YOU PENG WOO!
Yes yes, i agree with Sze wei, Thanks peng woo! Well, if you guys prefer non-Cameron Highlands, the other options are:
1) Genting - Frankly, i think it's too late to book now. Sure packed already becoz it's a holiday.
2) Slack in KL - Also can, but you guys would have to squeeze in my condo with no mattress/blankets/air-con. If you can bring a sleeping bag, i think it'll be fine. :P We can go err.. on a.. errr.. KL/PJ tour? (zzzzzzzz.. )
3) BALI! (too late now i guess..haha)
4) Pulau Redang! (rainy season.. so doesn't make that much sense.. haha)
And if you guys really don't want cameron highlands, you better voice ur opinions out! Speak now or forever hold your peace! :D
Yarh, either you guys come friday night or saturday morning is fine with me. If friday night, can stay at my place. If sat, i'll meet you all at puduraya bus station and take a bus to cameron highlands? (It's the only way to get there? I think?)
Also, the strawberry farm place looks pretty nice! :) We can take it as a relaxing trip to Cameron highlands? Woo hooo! Slack our asses off! And play squash/ tennis whole day! (w/o the big sun!!! ALL THE BETTER!)
Friday, May 2, 2008
Strawberry park looks nice!
I have a question though: if we are taking train up to KL on friday night, we will be spending the night on the train and most likely reach KL on Saturday morning. If that's the case, is there time to spend friday night at Sookfen's place?
If we can't fit to the train timing, I don't mind taking a coach, but a reputable one, like Konsortium or Transnational. They are safer I guess. I can't sleep the whole night when we took the bus up to Terengganu because the bus driver was doing an initial D.
Are we all fine with Cameron Highlands? The guys (minus Chris) were grumbling about nothing to do on Cameron Highlands? If anyone is interested in some other places, maybe we should voice out earlier so that we can make bookings earlier.
But thanks to Pengwoo for taking the effort to source out all these!
